After dedicating 7 years of her life to triathlon and Ironman, Kim picked up mountain biking "just for fun" and to help recover from knee surgery. Along the way, she fell in love with the rush of going downhill over steep and rocky terrain. These days you'll likely find Kim fixing a chain on a remote trail, teaching kids mountain bike camps, at an Xterra race, organizing exciting Tahoe MTB events or encouraging new riders to challenge themselves in the sport.
Denise moved to Tahoe in 2008 from Wisconsin. She quickly embraced the great outdoors and all it has to offer. You can find her outside either biking, hiking, or swimming in the summer and skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Denise joined our team in 2017 after riding with us weekly for a few years. She is grateful for the team as it has helped her gain confidence in mountain biking while improving her skills. Denise loves new adventures and is always looking to challenge herself.
Megan made Lake Tahoe her home over a decade ago and has enthusiastically embraced, the active, outdoor lifestyle. Mountain biking has become her passion and she credits her evolving skills to riding and training with like minded women and friends. "Meeting for organized rides provided a platform to explore new terrain, develop skills and build confidence. I never expected to feel so powerful and accomplished both physically and mentally". Megan will drop everything (when possible) to meet up for a quick ride after work or a long weekend adventure with fellow team members, especially Nancy B. who is always ready to ride!
Wenche came to Tahoe from Norway and like so many other people fell in love with the beauty of the area. She has been living here for 22 years and although an avid rider before having kids, she has in the last few years reignited her passion for mountain biking. She has been a regular on the team rides and has enjoyed becoming a better rider through them. Wenche enjoys getting out for family bike rides with her husband Erik and her two boys, Markus (14) and Sander (11).
Karolina came to Tahoe from Sweden to spend a year abroad for college. 15 years later she's still here after falling in love with the mountains and all its outdoor activities and beauty. Growing up being exposed to a mixture of outdoor & indoor sports in Sweden, Tahoe has made skiing, hiking & biking a passion and a big part of her life. Karolina started mountain biking about 10 years ago and thanks to the team the last few years mountain biking has become more frequent!
Carol picked up mountain biking after transitioning out of elite orienteering and moving to Tahoe in 2011. She learned everything she knows about biking from the Tahoe Mountain Bike Girls! When not biking or working as a mathematician for a slot machine company, you'll find Carol chasing after her toddler. She loves being active with such a supportive team of awesome women!

After fleeing the corporate world seven years ago, Nancy moved full time to Tahoe where she treats everyday as a new adventure. Nancy took a long hiatus from road biking to work and raise a family, but she re-entered the biking scene with gusto. "It started with a challenge to ride a metric century four years ago. I started back by going to spin class that winter, then on the road bike in the spring, this quickly developed into a love for mountain biking. Three years ago I began riding with the team which significantly increased my skills, thereby decreasing my fears. I often think to myself, this is what retirement is suppose to be!"
Coral loves exploring the many trails in this area by mountain bike or foot, and practices yoga to keep her balanced. As an advocate for the environment, she is passionate about protecting our wild places. She is grateful to this team for helping her riding improve, and is a fan of all things bicycle - including road biking or dirt jumping at the bike park. Coral is inspired by people willing to learn new things, and she loves teaching others to mountain bike; she can't wait to see you on the trails!
Rachel moved to Truckee 7 years ago from Missoula, Montana. Her love for mountain biking started when a friend dragged a very reluctant and nervous Rachel to a biking clinic. Little did she know, this clinic would be the spark that ignited her mountain biking obsession. Rachel is grateful to be part of this amazing and supportive team and she feels that there’s nothing in the world more powerful than a group of women biking together. When she’s not riding her bike, she’s often relentlessly forcing people (especially her husband, Steuart) to look at photos of her two dogs (Sampson and Zephyr) and two cats (Fletcher and Eleanor).
